Thank you! I wish more of the fanartists on this site would follow advice like this. I used to draw like you did in that one example of how NOT to draw - even into my twenties - though I did often draw preliminary shapes. Mostly my weaknesses are foreshortening and perspective. THANK YOU for this tutorial - this is precisely what I've been dying to learn how to do. You put it in words better than I could have done, and I thought I was doing a pretty good job on my own. Again, thank you so much for this - definitely a favorite AND a bookmark. I just have to get over my fear of drawing in Photoshop and just DO it!
I've seen other people use blocks, or random shapes, or even scribbles. I guess my point was that it's a good idea to have some sort of foundation, especially if you're doing complicated poses or are trying to arrange more than one character in a scene.
